Once I submit a claim for a certificate how quickly can I expect to receive it?
The Management Standards Centre will aim to issue a certificate within four weeks of a completed claim being received, but returns can take up to six weeks at peak periods.
The framework enhancements section refers to two further units at level 2 or above - what does this mean?
This has been designed to give the candidates the greatest flexibility in their choices. We recognise that management apprentices come from all sectors of industry and the two further units gives them an opportunity to select units from their own industry to increase their skills.
Is there a framework that covers the NVQs at higher levels?
At present there is no nationally recognised framework covering the NVQ at level 4. Providers in Wales may be able to offer level 4 outcomes by agreement at a local level with ELWa where they can demonstrate a clear demand.
Does the MSC accept proxies in place of key skills for the framework?
The MSC will accept any proxy qualification recognised as such by QCA. Full details of these can be found at the QCA website www.qca.org.uk.
I’m interested in following an apprenticeship or advanced apprenticeship, what should I do?
If you live in England you should contact your local Learning and Skills Council (LSC) who will be able to advise you of apprenticeship opportunities in your area. LSC contact details can be found at www.lsc.gov.uk.

If a candidate is on the current framework, can they complete this framework or will they have to transfer to the new framework?
As a rule, candidates should complete on the framework they start on. Candidates can choose to transfer to the new framework now it has been introduced, if they feel that this will benefit them. The transfer should however be agreed between the candidate, training provider and the LSC that is funding the candidate.
